AUDIENCE AWARD
The 6th edition of Athens International Short Film Festival Psarokokalo took place in Athens with great success in both venues, the Greek Film Archive and Nixon Cinema which hosted the wide range of its activities.
The week had it all: screenings of awarded short films from all around the world,
tributes, exhibitions, parties plus a number of interesting lectures and discussions between highly acknowledged directors and film professionals.
The audience prize was awarded to the short film VERA’S WILL by the Swedish director Josefine Camitz who attended the festival and received the award at the closing party.
We would like to thank the audience who supported the festival for another year and all the participants’ directors (116 films from 34 countries) who filled us with optimism, strength and positive ideas for the preparation of the next festival’s edition.

We would like to thank all the directors who submitted their movie to the AISFF Psarokokalo.
This year's participations reached the total of 1.214, approximately 15% more in relation to the festival of last year.
The directors of the movies selected for the competition section will be notified by e-mail by the end of January. The final programme will be posted in the festival's website after the press conference(9/2/2012).

Athens International Short Film Festival Psarokokalo announces that the main programmer of AISFFP Stavros Raptis is invited by the Iranian Youth Cinema Society (IYCS) as a member of the international jury of the Tehran International Film Festival.
The festival, which starts on Monday 10/10 and ends on Sunday 16/10, is one of the most important film festival in the Middle East and the programme includes more than 300 films from the region.

The AISFF Psarokokalo invites all filmakers to participate in the sixth edition of the festival which will take place in Athens, Greece in February 2012.
General Information:
* Submissions are open to short films of the following genres (fiction, animation, documentary, experimental). * The festival call is open to every creator of any nationality and background. * There is no submission fee. * The film must not exceed the lenght of 45 minutes. * All films must have english subtitles. * Deadline for applications and projects: 20 November 2011 (post stamped).

The 5th edition
of Athens International Short Film Festival Psarokokalo took place in Athens with great
success. For a whole week, the heart of the city was beating, in a rhythmical,
movie-going, festival mood in both its venues: the Greek Film Archive and Nixon
- which hosted the wide range of its activities. More than 2000 people passed
throughout the week and participated in its screenings and parallel events,
creating a vibrant cultural nucleus seeking for thematic and cinematic
innovations in substance and form.
The week
had it all: screenings of awarded short films from all around the world,
tributes, plus a number of interesting lectures and discussions between highly
acknowledged directors, designers,and
film professionals.
The audience prize was awarded to the short filmSTANKA GOES HOME by the Bulgarian director Maya
Vitkova.
The great
response with which the audience embraced the 5th edition of Athens
International Short Film Festival Psarokokalo, filled us with optimism and
strength for the preparation of the next festival, in which you are all invited
to participate!

AISFF Psarokokalo announces, in collaboration with the School of Applied Arts “Ornerakis”, the Storyboard Open Contest. Trustees are professors Christos Skaltsas, Stelios Polychronakis and Michalis Papanikolaou. All the proposals submitted, will be presented in a group show which will take place during Psarokokalo Festival. The winner will receive the “Ornerakis” scholarship in a field of his choice. STORYBOARD : Series of sketches which represent the screenplay of a movie or of an advertisement or of a TV series etc., by images. The sketches present the most important shots of a scene: the lining, the shooting angle of the camera, the position and the movement of the characters in space, together with the most important objects and scenery. The dialogues and effects are marked by words at the lower end of the image.

The audience prize was awarded to the short film CRUMBS by the French director Pierre Pinaud fic 31', (Cesar Award, Award of the Federation of French Critics, Award for best music Clermont Ferrand).
